Last year’s highly successful independent regional filmmaker festival makes its return. Markedly, up and coming filmmakers in Connecticut and bordering states submit their films and the Commission members review the films for inclusion. The Regional Indie Afternoon block of the Brookfield Film Festival was created to provide a platform for local filmmakers to introduce their work and discuss topics from their films as well as the filmmaking process. Overall we cannot wait to see what this year has to offer our attendees!

Read-Through Indie Morning

Sat March 25 – 10:00 AM

New this year, Read-Through Indie Morning is a block of the Brookfield Film Festival created in conjunction with the Brookfield Theatre for the Arts. Specifically this will provide screenwriters an opportunity to showcase a scene from a finished script and to network with actors.

Painting of a blue boat with the words Cape May on the side. The boat is on the beach at the oceanChristine Lombardi has been drawing for as long as she can remember. From a very young age, she created special cards for family and friends. Her work grew to be highly detailed and her intricate Christmas cards were an annual treat enjoyed by many. Christine was born and raised in Danbury, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Connecticut State University. The artist now currently resides in Bethel.
Portrait of Artist Christine LombardiThrough the years, Christine continued to focus her creative energies on her illustrations, developing her own style didn’t take long. She created her own set of greeting cards in 2010. In the Spring of 2018 she decided to try her hand at painting. Inspired by childhood vacations at the shore, she continues to enjoy portraying the beauty of the ocean in her work.
Lombardi’s work will be on display at Brookfield Town Hall during regular hours from September to October. Works are available for purchase by contacting Brookfield Arts Commission.
